Robert L. Kirkman, MD
President and CEO

ROBERT L. KIRKMAN, M.D. has served as our president and chief executive officer since September 2006. From 2005 to 2006, Dr. Kirkman was acting president and chief executive officer of Xcyte Therapies, which concluded a merger with Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, both development-stage biopharmaceuticals companies, in March of 2006. From 2004 to 2005, Dr. Kirkman was chief business officer and vice president of Xcyte. From 1998 to 2003, Dr. Kirkman was vice president, business development and corporate communications of Protein Design Labs, a biopharmaceuticals company. Dr. Kirkman holds an M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School and a B.A. in economics from Yale University.

Gary Christianson, PE
Chief Operating Officer

GARY CHRISTIANSON was appointed as our chief operating officer in July 2007. From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Christianson was site director for the Biologics Unit of GlaxoSmithKline plc, a global healthcare company. From 1999 to 2003, Mr. Christianson was vice president, technical operations at Corixa Corp., a biopharmaceutical and biotechnology company, and from 2003 to 2005, he was general manager of the Hamilton, Montana site in addition to his duties as vice president. From 1987 to 1999, Mr. Christianson held various positions at RIBI ImmunoChem Research, a biopharmaceuticals company. Mr. Christianson received a B.S. in mechanical engineering technology from Montana State University and is a licensed and board certified professional engineer.

Julie M. Eastland
Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Corporate Development

JULIE EASTLAND was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Corporate Development in August 2010. From 2006 to August 2010, Ms. Eastland served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Finance and Operations of VLST Corporation. From 2000 to 2005, Ms. Eastland held various finance positions at Dendreon Corporation, most recently as the Vice President of Strategic Planning. Prior to Dendreon, Ms. Eastland worked for Amgen, Inc. as area finance manager and assistant controller for its Colorado operations. Ms. Eastland has also worked as director of finance and planning for Encore Media Group, international finance and business manager and senior financial analyst for SCIENCE Magazine and financial manager for the Discovery Channel. Ms. Eastland received an M.B.A. from Edinburgh University Management School and a B.S. in finance from Colorado State University.

Diana Hausman, MD
Chief Medical Officer

DIANA HAUSMAN, MD, joined Oncothyreon in 2009 as Vice President, Clinical Development and was appointed Chief Medical Officer in January 2012. Prior to joining Oncothyreon, Dr. Hausman held a number of clinical research positions at ZymoGenetics, Inc. from 2005 to 2009, most recently as Senior Director of Clinical Research with responsibility for all therapeutic areas, including oncology, autoimmune disease and virology. Prior to Zymogenetics, Dr. Hausman was at Berlex in Seattle from 2002 to 2005, where she led a global drug development team. Dr. Hausman received her training in medical oncology from the University of Washington, and holds an M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an A.B. in Biology from Princeton University.

Scott Peterson, PhD
Vice President, Research and Development

SCOTT R. PETERSON, PHD joined Oncothyreon in August of 2009. From 2007-2009, Dr. Peterson was Director of Oncology Research at ZymoGenetics. Prior to that, Dr. Peterson was a Principal Scientist at ICOS Corporation where he led both small molecule and antibody cancer drug discovery programs. Dr. Peterson has a Ph. D. in Chemistry from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a B.S. in Biology from Washington State University.
